About CIOL
CIOL is dedicated to driving innovation at the intersection of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our virtual research lab is committed to developing cutting-edge AI, machine learning, and computational solutions that optimize processes, empower decision-making, and transform industries. Our expertise in manufacturing, operations research, supply chain management, logistics, and transportation directly inform our work. We focus on developing and applying advanced computational techniques to solve complex problems across these diverse domains, ultimately aiming to enhance efficiency and drive innovation in the field. Although CIOL was mainly created for IPE+AI areas, e are rapidly growing in Human Computer Interaction, Natural Language Processing, Medical AI, and other interdisciplinary areas. We are also working on developing AI tools and solutions for climate change, social good and humanitarian purposes.
Computational Intelligence and Operations Laboratory (CIOL) is a non-profit, community-driven academic research organization. We are an independent group of researchers from various academic institutions, collaborating to advance knowledge in machine learning and related fields. Although CIOL is not formally affiliated with any single institution or led by any single PI, our mission is to spread ML knowledge, mentor aspiring researchers, and explore uncharted territories in the field. Through education, mentorship, and innovative research, we aim to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the growth of the global research community.

Beginning of CIOL
Computational Intelligence and Operations Lab (CIOL) is founded by MD Shafiqul Islam and Azmine Toushik Wasi in 2022. We are collaborating with our faculties, department seniors and other collaborators, who are pursuing higher studies in Machine Learning at different universities worldwide and working in top industries, to ensure that the lab is well-equipped with the necessary resources and expertise. It is not an officially registered organization yet.
